Being one of the proud ex-owners of a S&W cobbed together imitation firearm laughably referred to as a Walther PPKs, I can attest to some knowledge (though it was acquired whilst cussing the damn

Viper, the recommendation given to you by Moose is good as gold! I would take his suggestion seriously and if you have any additional questions, he's the "Go To" guy on PPK/S's here on the forum and has years of experience with them.

I smoothed and rounded off that burr with 1,000 and then 1,200 grit wet sandpaper... That burr is a result of the cold-process spring making... [Sci-Channel:"How things R Made"] shame on Walther and S&W...

Viper, do you have a local gunshop or gunsmith in your area? It sounds to me like you need to stop by one of them and see what they can tell you about that spring. No spring should drag across the barrel and damage it in the process. Something doesn't sound right.

Thanks for the responses. I'm still wondering about the very sharp end of the spring my PPK/S has that seems to drag across the barrel (leaving a tiny scratch in its wake) when I remove

A year after I bought my Interarms PPK 380 used ,I finally went to the range with 100 rounds of Fiocchi 95gr. After reading the reviews here I didn't knew what to expect, and was a nice surprise;not

Tig: Thanks for expanding on my earlier post. I to have found that certain brands of ammo leave more residue than others and it only takes a few rounds to see it start building up.

...or, as I did, send it back to S&W describing the problem and your frustration with their product. Call and complain and they'll even send a call tag (no shipping charges). However, be advised, it will be 4 - 6 weeks before it gets returned.

Unfortunately many semi auto's, especially small pocket pistols are very sensitive to fouling. I sold a small Beretta that would rarely make it to 50 rounds before it started malfunctioning. I thought

@sportsterpaul - I believe I did read all 800+ posts, but should I really be expected to clean a ppk/s after every 50 rounds (at 100-150 rounds per session, thats alot of cleaning)? Right

My PPK also gets dirtly very quickly. I think polishing and keeping it clean is my best defense from these failures right now. I have also become pretty good at quickly clearing the failures though.

Iv'e fired every conceiveable/available type of .380 since it's return without fail. S&W claim all they did was polish the ramp when they got it. The gunny that looked at it before the return

Yes, did they change any springs or do any work on the ejector or slide rails? Does it feel tighter or looser and do you feel any difference in the magazines? Your story is an interesting one considering how unreliable these have been of late.

Have you noticed anything else that may have been done to the pistol? You mentioned the ramp polishing already and since your gunsmith believes the fact that it was all they did as a load of crap, it

Gun continues to perform flawlessly since it's 4 week vacation @ S&W. Haven't found anything it won't fire yet. It has become my carry weapon whenever the Florida heat won't allow for the larger cal./size Kimber.
