Maybe for the next build I'll look into the Troy Ind. sights, but I'm building an all out A2 this time with a 20" barrel and full carry handle, not detachable. I have a DPMS mil spec rear

I'll second the Troy. Smith has them on it's M&P. I thought they were flimsy. They're not. Their a lot of other sights out there that are excellent. LaRue has the rep. So does LMT. Matech makes the sights for the USAF.

Take a look at Troy industries folding rear. I've found them to be durable and return to zero with out fail when folded up and down multiple times.

After a long pause on my AR build I finally bought my upper reciever. I got a stripped DPMS A2 upper. I'm going to get some of the parts I want like the tear drop forward assist and a stainless ejection port cover in the near future. Haven't decided on a rear sight yet though.

Check out US OPTICS and go to accessories. When you're there look at the SN 12 and SN 3 rifle scopes.

It's because people aren't rating it routinely. If people want to see a higher rating, they need to leave one for it. The more posts that are left without a rating, will actually drive the existing rating down.

I personallys like the forward assist and the shell deflector (I'm a lefty). I've used the assist on more than one occasion, that would require you to rack the charging handle again if

I have a little hitch in my plans. I have run across a flattop upper by DPMS that is lacking a forward assist and the ejection port cover, and it's caught my eye. I was thinking of using that with

Lower is now 100% complete. Total spent on all parts to assemble was $293.16, which also included (3) 30 round mags.
I also added a couple of twists to an otherwise "plain jane"

Hi Kep,
You're fine. The ban dealt more with things like the type of stock, bayonet lugs, threaded barrels, mag capacity etc. Here's a better description of it for informational purposes:

Hey Tig, I looked at Del-Ton, specifically for uppers. I noticed that they had a 20" A2 upper that was pre-ban and a 20" A2 that was post-ban. Talk to me about differences and do I have to

The standard mil spec trigger is what my M&P15 has now. It's o.k. but not a great trigger and I may eventually do something different with it.
So far I have the lower from Spikes Tactical

I think the single vs double stage trigger decision ends up being a personal one. What you like ends up being the deciding factor. I prefer the single because I know exactly when it's going to break.

The trigger has already been a thought, but I think what I will do is get the rifle completely built and then after I take it out once or twice figure out what to change from there.
I appreciate

I know you mentioned that your intention is to build a plain jane rifle but I would suggest you consider at least a few upgrades. One of them is a match trigger. I installed a single stage Chip McCormick
